Study Counsellor

Key Responsibilities

1. Consultation and Guidance

  • Conduct one-on-one consultations with students to understand their educational goals, preferences, and aspirations.
  • Provide expert advice on study destinations, courses, and universities that align with the students’ educational and career objectives.

2. Application Support

  • Assist students in preparing and submitting university applications, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Guide students in writing personal statements, and CVs, and preparing for interviews.

3. Visa Assistance

  • Provide information on student visa requirements and processes for various countries.
  • Assist with the visa application process, ensuring timely submission and adherence to regulations.

4. Information Sessions and Workshops

  • Organize and conduct workshops and information sessions to educate students about studying abroad, including topics like scholarships, cultural adaptation, and living abroad.

5. Market Research

  • Stay updated on trends in the education sector, including changes in visa regulations, new courses, and university rankings.
  • Research and maintain knowledge of potential universities and programs to better assist students.

6. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with universities and educational institutions abroad.
  • Network with educational agents, alumni, and other stakeholders to enhance the consultation process.

7. Follow-Up and Support

  • Provide ongoing support to students during their application process and after placement, including pre-departure briefings.
  • Handle queries and concerns, providing quick and effective solutions.

8. Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Maintain detailed records of student consultations, applications, and follow-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and data protection regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counselling, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in education consulting or student counselling is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the study abroad process, including visa requirements and application procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and CRM software.
